Budding

I said recently that only one of my five crepe myrtles had buds, and today I noticed that those buds are beginning to open:
Of the other four trees, a couple have a small number of buds now, and the remaining trees look like they might just be beginning to think about developing buds.

Here is a bud of a different sort:
The Limelight protea which was destroyed by a cockatoo last year is going to have a flower again this year. I hope I get to see it this time!

Love the crinkly flowers of the crepe myrtle. Yours is a beautiful colour.

Both the buds and the flowers on that crepe myrtle are pretty colors...

Hey there Vireya,
It has been a good season for Crepe Myrtles down here. Yours is taking it's time but will be worth the wait - Mine has been a picture for weeks even flowering on the lower branches as well.
