Elegance

Because our regular venue is closed for the public holiday, my book club met today at the home of one of our members. After an interesting discussion of a book that no-one was particularly impressed with, our host sat us down to a very elegant afternoon tea:
Cloth serviettes. Cake forks. Delicate teacups. Crystal cake stand. Azaleas from her garden. Everything was lovely.

Thank you, Pat!

Reading and Eating

Our normal venue is still closed, so the book club met at one member's home, which was lovely and cool.
Lots of yummy goodies came along, too, including red velvet cake, which I'd only seen on the internet until now. It tasted good, but I imagine it would taste just the same without all the colouring.

Book Club Finale

Last meeting of the book club for the year, held in a cafe as our normal venue has already closed for the year.
The person at the library who chooses the books came along too, and we learnt that she chooses the "less intellectual" books for this group. Oh.
