Ridiculous

Sliced beetroot, anyone? There's eight tins left:
The paper notices warn that bulk purchases are being restricted. "We want to ensure all customers have access to our products". But when there is almost nothing on the shelves, the signs are just a joke.

Despite all the empty shelves, I managed to get 5 of the 6 items I had on my shopping list today. The best find was sugar for jam-making, which I have been seeking for a week.

We have to make a grocery run next week--things are whittling down here even though we eat leftovers and have tried to pare back portions a bit...Hugs, Julierose

I think I have been luckier than most, shelves not nearly so empty.
Except for sugar, thanks for the tip off on where you found yours. Jam making time with no sugar is impossible.

Haven't been to a supermarket here in 2 weeks, so can't comment. I have plenty of things in my pantry for mixing together. Daughter of parents from the Depression era, was taught to be self sufficient.

For about one week here there was a run on toilet paper, then people realized or remember there is a toilet paper factory in a nearby town. I've not seen any empty shelves yet, but we don't have any lockdown situations either. Who knows what will happen next?
