Welcome to the house with the orange door!
I took possession of this property today. There's not much inside yet, but I brought along the table for my Sweet Sixteen machine:
The machine itself is still in its box at home. Next time.
Then it will go up the stairs:
And be set up in this room, which will be my new sewing room:
But one thing I am unhappy about. In the garage I found a few items:
Cat food. A cat carry-box. And a note from the tenants who moved out over the weekend, saying that they hadn't been able to wait for their cat to come home! And they asked me to take it to the RSPCA, or keep it myself. I am very upset that they have dumped an animal, and expect me to deal with it. I don't know if the cat is somewhere in the neighbourhood, or if it has been hit by a car, or if someone else is feeding it, but there was no sign of it at the house today. It will be a few days before I am there again myself. I feel dreadful that the poor thing has been abandoned like that. Why on earth didn't they keep it confined for the last few days before they moved out? Cat people, what should I do?

I can't imagine leaving one of my babies behind! I would put a bowl of food outside for it in hopes that it wanders back home. Poor baby! I hope it's ok!
That is so sad, I often wonder why people have pets. I hope it is solved so you don't have to worry about it. Love your space behind the orange doors.
Terrible "cat lovers", clearly not very good planners! I hope they don't have children or they might turn up as well!
Firstly, Welcome to your new home and I wish you every happiness, especially in your new sewing room.
Re. the cat, I would report them to the RSPCA, that is just not right. Ring them and ask what you should do, I am not one for cats but no animal should be treated like that and nor should you.
They clearly did the wrong thing, but in the spirit of kindness, it may not have been all their fault. In the hassle of moving the cat may have been spooked and escaped....who knows? At least they have attempted to right the wrong. Just put food out and keep an eye out when you are around. It isn't your problem so don't over think it.
Please put out food. Nice looking house.
The cat may actually be looking for them, poor thing. Did they move locally? By the way, you are going to have a great sewing space.
oh poor cat. why people do this?
Your new sewing space is just great.
Maybe all will be revealed as I read (backwards lol) but have your moved.
A shame about the cat. Congratulations and Merry Christmas!
Behind the Orange Door is a lovely unit with what looks like a lot of natural light! Can;t wait to see more of it. Congrats!
