Around the Garden

Look! The first blossom of the year:
Almond blossom. The plums are covered in swelling buds and should have flowers soon, too.

Other signs of spring in the garden today:
Spring star:

Grape hyacinths (Muscari):

Snowflakes (Leucojum):

One lonely snowdrop (Galanthus):
Dirt splashed up by the rain.

Flowering quince (Chaenomeles):

And a few more flowers:
Red hot poker (Knifophia):

Euphorbia "Silver Swan";

Another Euphorbia:

Spring is definitely in the air.

  1. Beautiful photos of your blooms--especially love those delicate snowdrops...enjoy hugs, julierose

  2. Jealous, I havent been in the garden for a few days because of the nasty weather. I know I have daffodils flowering but not sure about the other bulbs. Love your flowering quince, always wanted one, never think of buying it until this time of year!

  3. Funny how we have plant associations. As soon as I saw your grape hyacinth I was back in my grandparents garden where they grew in a row down the driveway below the standard roses.
