The Garden in May

Temperatures are dropping, and winter feels close. Check out our top temperatures for the last week:

15/05/2021    9.6    blue
14/05/2021    9.7    blue
13/05/2021  12.8    aqua/teal
12/05/2021  15.8    green
11/05/2021    9.6    blue
10/05/2021  12.2    aqua/teal
  9/05/2021  16.4    green

Brrr! (The colours refer to the scale I used for my temperature quilt a few years back.)

Here's what is in bloom in late autumn:

Bergenia

Tree dahlia - lots of buds, but it might be a bit late for most of them.

Penstemon

Melaleuca nesophila

Hakea "Burrendong beauty" coming to the end of its flowering

Correa

Bethel sage just starting to flower

Eremophila

Salvia

Cosmos

Fuchsia

Rosemary (dud photo)

Abutilon (another dud photo)

Viburnum tinus

Euphorbia

Senecio blue chalk sticks

Japanese windflowers

Hebe

I missed a few. There are some roses still in bloom, but they are nearly finished. A few zinnias, also on the way out. The lavender is still going strong. And I'll probably find more tomorrow.

It's always sad for me to see the end of the flowers!

What lovely colors in the Bergenia and Cosmos (can you tell I like purple-ey colors?) Today we got up to 84 degrees (F) very warm...at long last we are thinking perhaps we will be springing-into-Summer...
I hope all is well with you and that you are resting enough...hugs, Julierose

Another beautiful month of blooms. I love the cold crisp mornings of winter, stay warm.

The blue skies are deceptive. I do hope all those tree dahlia buds get to bloom, so pretty.

We are supposed to be having warmer temps, after all it's mid May, but our temps are staying around the 50's-60's. I am ready for warmer, but not scorching hot, I wilt in scorching hot! LOL You won a surprise giveaway on my blog, so I will be contacting you for an address!

Hello Vireya, I am visiting from Tassie; so happy I found your lovely little place. Your autumnal garden is a delight; so many happy flowers still smiling in your garden. Down here we have had a spectacular show of the hues of the autumn trees....so, so pretty. Alas, down here, Jack Frost has thrown his icy darts everywhere and all the flowers....well...they are no more. Again, such a delight to have happened upon your lovely blog.
