Baby Magpie

 This year our magpies have only managed to produce one fledgling.

There are still three adults looking after it, so it it is well fed and nowhere near as demanding as last year's batch of three were.

I always love the soft grey feathers of baby magpies before they turn black.

There is one very demanding young magpie here. It sits in the tree and calls most of the day. Its parents are not rushing around at its beck and call and might just ignore it altogether soon.
