Sailors Falls

Almost exactly a year ago, we went on an outing to a number of waterfalls, but missed the last one because of heavy rain. Today was a beautiful sunny winter day to visit the one we missed.

The bright sunshine does make the shadows very dark, so the details of the falls aren't visible in my photos.

There also a mineral water spring here:
Although there are also signs advising you not to drink the water.

We walked the look trail which is meant to take 25 minutes according to the signs, but took us over an hour. The dogs enjoyed the walk:
Although my legs are a little tired from all the stairs up and down (some of which are visible in the background of the photo).

And here we are back at the top, where you can see how much the sun moved while we did the circuit:
Far enough that the falls are completely in the shadow and almost impossible to see! There are better photos of the falls with more water flowing here if you are interested.

This was a beautiful day for an outing, as the forecast for the next week is cold and rainy.

Wonderful you could get an outing and give the doggies good exercise; my outing for today was a grocery run...hoping we have enough so it'll be 2 weeks before we have to venture there again...

What a lovely place to visit. Good exercise for you and the dogs. It is Canada Day here. Hot, hot, hot! One of my neighbours held a Canada day block party complete with social distancing. It was a great opportunity to meet many of my neighbours.

Last time we visited, it wasn’t flowing. A lovely area for a walk.

The last few days have been an unexpected sunshine bonus. They look like great falls with a satisfying splash at the bottom. Do those dogs ever tire?

You certainly did luck out with the weather... great sunny walk.
And I can see the pups enjoyed it too... xox

It looks like a beautiful falls. Those stairs look daunting so I.m sure you were a bit sore afterwards.

I checked out the link and saw that the falls looks surprisingly like Abiqua Falls and some of the Silver Creek Falls here in Oregon, USA. I have been under the Butte Creek Falls and taken pictures of the back of the water, that is so fun! The walk to Butte Creek Falls is not too terribly long and not too steep, just a nice stroll. Waterfalls are just wonderful! Have a GREAT day!

What a lovely outing! What a wonderful way to enjoy a day out and take in the beauty of natural attractions. Haven't done that in ages --- have to add that to the "easing out of quarantine" To Do list!
