At Last!

Look what arrived this morning:
A truck-load of windows!

The installation was meant to be completed in one day, but there was a bit of a problem. The windows were larger than they were supposed to be. So the carpenters had to spend most of the day enlarging the window openings in the frame to match the windows:

I'm sure there will be some discussions between the builder, the window manufacturer, and the architect about all that!

Gradually the windows were fitted. Kitchen:
(with a view of the other on-going problem, the big pile of tree branches and roots which should have been burnt but now can't be because there's a house right by it).

Under the back verandah:

And across the front of the house:
Workers everywhere! But they ran out of daylight before the job was done, so the window guy will be back later in the week to finish off.

Wow the windows look great! Seeing all the photos of the progress is like an episode of Grand Designs in slow motion! ( but just as interesting!)

What wonderful progress! The discrepancy with the window sizes so reminds me of episodes of Grand Designs!

Ha ha! I just saw that Dianne mentioned Grand designs also!

I love that show, yes I have thought of Grand Designs also. Once the windows are finished, it's all systems go for the fitting of the plaster walls, kitchen, bathroom etc. Looking forward to seeing it in it's finished state.

Looks like everyone watches GD. I had similar thoughts. ;o) I can't wait to see this all come together. It is so easy when we just sit here at our computers watching it unfold, without any of the stress associated with all the organisation. Hope the pace will continue steadily now.

So glad the windows finally arrived. There is always some when building a house. It looks amazing!
