My brother could have done with a helping hand from you today. He was in Melbourne at the weekend and when he arrived home last night, the bees had swarmed in his kitchen - actually in the chimney I think.
Kaite, I think it is just the season. There's lots of food around (you might be able to tell that this one is in a callistmon), and that seems to encourage them to try and set up new colonies.
There are a heck of a lot of bees in my backyard currently, what should i do if i see something like this? just run and hide and let them work it out or ring a beekeeper?

what is it about your area that attracts bee swarms? looks very scary, trillions perhaps?
