Books on Shelves

It was like re-encountering old friends as I unpacked ten boxes of books this afternoon, and placed them on the newly-painted shelves:
At least another ten boxes to go (let's hope they all fit) but it feels so much nicer to walk past clean shelves of books than having the wall of boxes here.

There are so many ways to organise books on shelves, I have even seen them done by spine colour. Looked really good but it would have been impossible to find anything. Whichever way, they do bring life and soul into a home.

I used to keep my books in random order so as by serendipity I would find a treasure when I was looking for something quite different. In the library people often asked for the yellow book on the bottom shelf which was not how they were catalogued!!

I keep my books in "content" order: all mysteries together, all poetry etc. The only author I do alphbetically by title is Agatha Christie as I collect her..your shelves look lovely--so pristine hugs, Julierose

That has to be such a great feeling.
