This morning I was presented with this lovely thing:
I was given the rusty base last February. That linked post shows the rust removal process. Since then the parts have been in the garage, but I had no idea that in fact they had been painted and reassembled. And had this beautiful red ironbark top made!
How wonderful. Not normally a fan of these tables, but knowing that a machine was not destroyed to make yours, I can appreciate the thoughtful repurposing. The wood on the top is superb, it must have been difficult to work with.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, a job very well done, enjoy.
ReplyDeleteFabulous. Lucky you.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful gift. The top is a credit to the woodworker.
ReplyDeleteI scored two sets of legs from all trash pick up in the early 70's. No machines were destroyed and the tables they became are still in use 40+years later.
What a beautiful table, perfect for the sewing room!
ReplyDeleteYou should paint it orange to match the tractor
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! Love the timber top!
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous!! Graeme did a beautiful job on the table.
