I Think This One Is Ripe

I was watching the birds in my backyard from my sewing machine, when I noticed some sparrows doing something in my persimmon tree. This is what I found when I went out to investigate:
One hollowed-out persimmon.

Looks like I need some more bird-netting.

    or you could pick them unripe, they ripen quite well in the kitchen. tragic for the birds to have them.
