Ooops

In an attempt to move a library book away from a potential danger this morning, I managed to knock my laptop to the floor. It isn't happy.

That was an unfortunate (and expensive) mistake!

 

For Jeanette, here's the critter that got the dogs a bit excited when we were talking on the phone:

Turns out it is a beetle! A very strange looking beetle. If I am right it is Enchoptera apicalis, a wasp-mimicking beetle. Who knew there was such a thing?

    Its mimicry works well, you thought it was some sort of wasp.
    Very sad about your computer - I think screens can be repaired, at least phone ones can.

    Ouch! Brings a whole new meaning to the saying “ my computer crashed”! Have never seen a wasp- mimicking beetle… but then again maybe I have, & just thought it was a wasp!

    That's a beetle?!? No wonder the dogs were spooked, I'd be too! Uh oh, I think I know what Santa will be getting you for Christmas. That laptop screen is toast!
