Welcome Home

This little mantid was sitting on the door frame when I arrived home tonight to welcome me.
Ninth day over 30 degrees; already the longest hot spell since records began, but will we make it to 10 before the cool change arrives tomorrow?

    Is it just an optical illusion, or are the front sections of its front legs missing?

      I think they were just folded up, although none of the photos I have are clearly focused on his legs for me to check.
