I too looked up "wattle bird diet" this morning and found that insects are a staple, but the thought of you providing a hive as a feeding station is still pretty amusing:)Chiara Zhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08110995967514906523noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6876943005305984410.post-60480427530158506622011-09-12T17:55:03.676+10:002011-09-12T17:55:03.676+10:00I did discover that it is quite normal behaviour, ...I did discover that it is quite normal behaviour, but I just hadn't seen it before. I hope they don't eat too many of your bees!Deehttp://dewdropsanddragonflies.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6876943005305984410.post-69127708546057520282011-09-12T08:53:58.680+10:002011-09-12T08:53:58.680+10:00i suspect that your wattle birds have adapted and ...i suspect that your wattle birds have adapted and it's the honey and pollen on the bees legs that they are attracted to, and maybe if you watched them for longer you might find they spit the dead bee back out again. Very interesting.kaiteMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16299002622308267375noreply@blogger.com
