UFO for June

Judy has drawn Number 7 as the UFO for June. I had completely forgotten this quilt existed:

Grand Illusion, Bonnie Hunter's mystery from 2014, here a completed top hanging on the line in January 2015. Since then, put away and forgotten! Well, I remembered it enough to put it on the list at the beginning of the year. So this month I will pull it out and make some progress on it. I've got fabric I can use for a back for it. So I'll get it basted and quilt it!

In May, I decided rather than working on a UFO, I would work on the three challenge pieces I need to make this year.

For the first challenge, which is due in November, I made this table runner which is basted and ready to quilt:

The second challenge is due in August. I made this elephant for that one:

The third challenge is due in December. It has to remain secret, but here is the little bin on my cutting table after I had done some work on it:
I can't show the actual quilt for 6 months. But in May I finished about 80% of the piecing for it. Soon it will be on my "to be quilted" pile.

Also during May I completed appliquéing my April UFO to its background:

So May was a productive month, even though no UFOs were completed.

What a great forgotten find! Good luck with the quilting, at least the weather is right for this job.

May was surely productive for you; all lovely projects. I really like your colors in Grand Illusion--it is beautiful...

I think I need a new blade (ya think???) --this from the gal who cracked her ironing board pressing too hard. hugs, Julierose

Lots of solids in the December challenge quite a change from the splendiferous elephant.
