This Quilt Made Me Cry

I have a "round" birthday coming up soon. Last night at the monthly Ballaarat Quilters meeting, I was presented with this beautiful gift:
My photo doesn't do the colours justice. I was so busy today that I didn't get a chance to photograph it in the sunshine, which would have brought out the warm colours. By the time I took this the sun had gone, so the quilt looks bluer and cooler than in real life.

There was a story attached, which involved several people making blocks for a quilt for me, then the person who was sewing the blocks together having an accident with a large bottle of sewing machine oil. Apparently she is going to make some of the blocks that survived the oil into cushion covers for me, but in the meantime she put this quilt together from her own stash, then missed the retreat last weekend in case I was there (which I wasn't) to stay home and finish the quilt!

I was so touched by the gift and the dedication of Trish who saved the day, I couldn't help shedding a tear or two.
